I'd like to set up key bases in hotspots of interest. I'll need to make a few more trips to the castle area to unlock the remaining rooms tomorrow.Īfter all this I'll hold out finishing the game in order to explore more. The ion batteries each use those ion cubes in their recipe though and I need to first make sure those cubes aren't a key endgame item for that rocket.
If you're new to the vast survival crafting themed alien oceans of the Subnautica series it can be a little tricky and downright deadly trying to figure out which ones are safe and which aren't. I had one purple tablet though (you need more than this.) so I only opened the room that gave me access to ION tech! That's right - Ion batteries/cells are planned for tomorrow! Infinite power is all MINE! (followed by a 2hr recharge time). The Leviathan class of creatures on planet 4645B are, just like the first game, absolutely massive, but not all of them are hostile. I managed to reach the castle untouched (prawn still has stock thrusters) by the big bad and got into the facility without issue as the entrance is a pain to find. The main plan was to use the Prawn and dart into the castle, float/crash my way through its tunnels to the Thermal Power Plant structure within. Parked my leech covered Cyclops and built me a base with lockers, a fabricator and a health pack station. The castle itself is about 800metres away with the Sea Dragon Lev patrolling. At the end of this corridor I planned to make a small base running off thermal power. From the Lost River there's a long lava corridor that leads to the Lava Castle. I ended up quitting the game because it was late, so I'll be building it this evening!ġ. I then went to build it but even though I thought I was in really deep water, it wasn't deep enough, so I relocated the Mobile Vehicle Bay to where I thought was deep enough, only to discover that it wasn't. I had most of the materials required to build it, but ended up having to go between my two bases (one in the Safe Shallows and the other in the Mushroom Forest) before I had everything. That's where I found the engine fragments for the Cyclops. I was quite deep, and above me (fairly high up, luckily!) a Reaper Leviathan could be seen swimming around, freaking me out loads with all the noise it makes! I was quite a way under it and luckily it didn't deviate from its patrol, so it gave me some time to investigate the wreck. It was a fairly flat area that was right next to a huge wreck from the Aurora. In the future, they'll also be able to spawn outside of three playable areas. The Reaper Leviathan can also grab the P.R.A.W.N suit and can possibly destroy it. Specifically, he can do from 40-60 percent of damage for about 10 seconds before he let's go.
Last night I finally managed to find all the fragments needed to build the Cyclops! I took the PRAWN suit out for a bit of a jaunt, and ended up finding an area that I didn't even get to explore during early access. The Reaper Leviathan can grab the Seamoth and smash it down into the Seabed. And I've enjoyed every moment of playing it so far. The developers really do deserve success with the game. I'm glad that this thread has taken off and has attracted some new players.
